While we’re talking about enjoyable RV experiences, we really would like to take some time to introduce you to one of the latest models in the RV market today. Our focus today is with the 2020 Gulf Stream Trailmaster, the latest and greatest rig from the famed builder, Gulf Stream RV.
Gulf Stream RV has been assembling quality trailers in Nappanee, Indiana since 1983, and ever since, have been owned and operated by the Shea family. Jim Shea’s background was in the construction of manufactured homes, he applied this knowledge and experience to his RVs in order to create a superior product, and the rest is history.
The Gulf Stream Trailmaster is the perfect choice for families to get out and see what nature has to offer. There’s a wide range of floor plans available and sizes from 4600 pounds to 10,500 pounds. These trailers benefit from incredible construction techniques, honed from Gulf Stream’s long history of building homes before their foray into recreational vehicles. Gulf Stream has combined traditional RV building materials with their proprietary techniques, like uni-body technology, and this has led to a product that’s not only strong and durable but also incredibly lightweight. The Gulf Stream Trailmaster features a one-piece seamless roof, which is supported by reinforced truss-style construction – Gulf Stream stands behind the quality of this roof, demonstrated by the fact that it carries its own 12-year warranty. Main slide outs also benefit from the very best in construction techniques, you’ll find that each comes with a 4” x ¼” steel beam running through. This provides excellent support and ensures complete longevity.
Gulfstream have also upgraded their structural warranty for non-roof components to 3 years. This includes sidewalls, frame, and even the underbelly. Your knowledgeable Sturgeon Woods RV sales staff will be happy to fill you in on the finer details of this generous warranty.
Starting with the front of the exterior, the Trailmaster benefits from steel checker plate stone protection, preventing damage to the front cap from road borne debris. The propane tanks are mounted on the A-frame, and feature a cover for improved aesthetics and protection from the elements. There’s a power tongue jack, too – this makes hitching and unhitching your Trailmaster from your to vehicle a real piece of cake. Speaking of an easy setup, the Trailmaster includes rear camera prep as standard – simply add your preferred system and you’ll be backing into camping pitches like a pro in no time.
External storage is plentiful in the Gulf Stream Trailmaster; there is a small hatch up front, and a large, lighted pass-through storage area at the rear. These compartments are perfect for storing larger or more unusually shaped items, or simply for dirty gear that you don’t want to bring inside.
At the rear, you’re going to notice 2 large radius safety glass windows, these are the bunkhouse portholes and they’re screened for your comfort and convenience. Windows are treated and tinted This RV boasts a full-sized spare wheel, mounted at the rear. This is such a handy feature, and very refreshing to see, as more and more rigs at this price point have started providing repair kits in lieu. Having a true spare gives real peace of mind, especially when heading out into more remote areas.
You’ll love the electric power awning, with LED lighting and exterior speakers – it’s perfect for enjoying the outdoors with some shelter from the elements.
To embark your 2020 Gulf Stream Trailmaster, you’ll ascend the solid steps, and if you need a little assistance, don’t worry, there’s a sturdy handrail to the side. There’s no wobble on these steps, meaning you can get in and out with confidence.
Moving into the luxurious interior, you’ll be instantly wowed by the beautiful furnishings and décor. The Trailmaster boasts maple cabinetry, which unlike nearly all competitor’s trailers, features solid wood drawers and drawers. Throughout the interior, you’ll find high-performance wood grain vinyl flooring, it looks great and it’s incredibly hard-wearing.
There’s a comfortable front master bedroom, featuring a queen-size bed, a shirt closet and a nightstand with electrical outlets – perfect for charging phones and other mobile devices.
If you’re not satisfied with a basic kitchen, the Gulf Stream Trailmaster is definitely the unit for you. It features a 3 burner cooktop with a super burner, a generously sized oven, a carousel microwave, and a power range hood with a bright light. There are a 6 cubic feet propane and electric refrigerator, perfect for storing perishables, and keeping leftovers (if there’s any!) for the next day. The sink is a 60 – 40 split, for a convenient cleanup operation. The overall look of the kitchen is enhanced by the stunning tile backsplash and attractive countertops.
As well as a gourmet kitchen, you’re also getting a comfortable residential-style master bathroom, with features like:
- A wood medicine cabinet
- A shower skylight
- Standard shower curtain
- A power bath vent
- A convenient foot flush toilet
- And a glass front door when neo-angle or corner shower is fitted.
The bathroom boasts a tub and a shower, so no matter which you prefer, you’ll be able to wash up and relax at the end of a long day of adventures.
In the living area, you will be thrilled with just how spacious it feels. Select floorplans include a comfortable couch and bench dinette, providing tons of seating for you and your guests. The design team at Gulf Stream have gone all out, creating a beautiful rustic barn style look, with reclaimed wood style boards and wall-mounted lamps. It’s one of the Sturgeon Woods RV team’s favorite trailer designs for 2020 and we’re sure you’ll love it too.
For powering your Gulf Stream Trailmaster, 30 amp service is standard, along with a 45 amp converter and charger. There is wall mounted light switches, and a 12-volt antenna ready jack, too. If you can’t do without your favorite shows or the big game while you’re camping, cable TV hookup is included as standard. There’s also a soundbar included, and pre-wired, so when you’ve chosen the TV you’d like to install, you’re going to have top quality audio to accompany your shows and movies
As far as a variety of layouts goes, there is an almost unprecedented number of available floor plans available in the 2020 Gulf Stream Trailmaster series. There are in fact, an astonishing 39 layouts to choose from, from the standard travel trailer to the lodge series, ultra-lite, super lite, and special edition plans. There are models to suit all needs, with multiple slide-outs available, and varying numbers of berths. The berths price sleeping arrangements on comfortable queen beds, double over double bunk beds, foldouts, and convertible beds, too.

If you’re looking for something a little more special, there are a ton of great optional extras you can add to your 2020 Gulfstream Trailmaster. For example, if you often travel with a lot of guests, you may want to consider upgrading your air conditioning unit from the standard 13,500 BTU to the more powerful 15,000 BTU unit for effortless cooling. For easier setup at the campsite, electric stabilizer jacks are also available. As well as individually available options, you can also opt for the Supreme Value Package on the travel trailer floor plans. Some of the great features of this package include:
